Our New PHACE Friends

From the time Jayda was diagnosed with PHACE Syndrome we have always hoped that we would find people in Australia. Well in the last month we have found two families, thanks to our Facebook PHACE Community. They are Steve, Rose and their daughter Scarlett and Lisa and her daughter Felicity. We have become friends with many of our overseas families and in 2010 were fortunate enough on our Texas trip to meet Yury, Fabian and Gissie. Though it may take some time we can't wait to meet our new Aussie mates. I would like to say a thank you to Felicity's Mum Lisa who has put us in touch with another Neurologist here in Australia so we can get another opinion on Jayda's vascular anomalies.

New Norcia and York Trip.

A couple of weeks ago we went to York Western Australia to visit Matt's Uncle who is housesitting. It is only hour out of Perth but you really feel like you are in the country. We also drove from York to New Norcia to visit Matt's old boarding school. For Matt it was a trip back in time not being there for 22 years. New Norcia was established by the Benedictine Monks and to this day the Monastery is still a going concern, no more schooling there just tourists like us.

This is a video of a car cruise Jayda went on. We went to Dwellingup, Western Australia with the STEEL BUMPER CAR CRUIZES WA. We as a family love our cruises in our 1966 VC Valiant.

Fun Days At The Park

Here in Perth, Western Australia it is winter and it has been very cold this year. So when we have nice sunny days we try and take the kids to a park. We love going to Kings Park as it is massive and so much to do there. We have also discovered a new park which is pirate ship themed.

Second Round Of Laser

Jayda has just had her second round of laser therapy. Another early morning at the hospital but we were home by lunch time. It was decided that this time around her Dr would turn the laser down as Jayda had a fair amount of scabbing after her first. She woke up in recovery just fine and wanting her icy pole. It has been a week now and already it is fading with just a very small scab.

Holiday in Bali

In June we took a family holiday to Bali, Indonesia. It is only a four hour flight from Perth and cheap. We stayed at the MELIA RESORT in Nusa Dua which is about a 20 minute drive from Kuta. The girls loved swimming everyday and we had great weather. The people are so friendly and they just adored the girls. We definitely will be going back.

Laser Treatment Progress

Well it is now been over a month since Jayda had her laser treatment and there is definitely a change. The redness on her top lip is gone and the broken capillaries on her face have lightened with some having gone. She was left with only a little scar from some scabbing that she picked off other than that it has been a great outcome.
